The U.S. Department of State’s Embassy in Zambia announces an opportunity to implement a program to manage and disburse EducationUSA program funds.

The EducationUSA advising program, administered through the U.S. Embassy Zambia's Public Affairs Section (PAS), connects qualified Zambian students with educational opportunities at U.S. colleges and universities and accredited U.S.-affiliated institutions abroad, with the Opportunity Funds initiative providing additional support to high-achieving, financially limited students. By facilitating international enrollment, the program advances U.S. economic prosperity — fee-paying students generate revenue for American institutions, support domestic job creation, and strengthen U.S. global competitiveness, while select participants fill critical skills gaps in U.S. industries before returning home to build Zambia's economy and create new markets for U.S. investment.

Beyond economics, the program serves key U.S. strategic and national security interests by cultivating a generation of American-educated Zambian leaders, scientists, and professionals, building durable institutional ties and reducing the influence of strategic competitors like China and Russia among Zambia's youth. Taken together, EducationUSA strengthens the bilateral relationship between the United States and Zambia through shared academic and professional experience, advancing mutual understanding and long-term partnership.

Kucetekela Foundation will act as a third-party recipient by the U.S. Embassy to disburse award funds as directed by the U.S. Embassy’s Education Outreach Coordinator.
