Assessing abundance and migratory connectivity of boreal birds

The partners serve the biological, physical, social, cultural, and engineering disciplines needed to address natural and cultural resource management issues at multiple scales and in an ecosystem context. Funds are available to participate in a study of breeding landbirds and shorebirds of conservation concern on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Anchorage, Alaska. Applicants must be able to: 1) recruit and supervise individuals qualified to conduct surveys of breeding shorebirds and landbirds; 2) supervise students to compile environmental and avian survey data to develop spatial models of habitat use. 3) Must have access to and be familiar with the military lands with which this study is being conducted on.
