DRUG COURT TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE INITIATIVE This purpose of this grant is to: educate, train, and produce materials for law enforcement, criminal justice practitioners, and treatment providers to reduce justice costs, reduce recidivism, improve access to services and service delivery, and reduce disproportionality of punishment in the criminal justice system. ONDCP encourages applications from organizations with expert knowledge of drug courts and extensive experience in developing and providing training and technical assistance for drug court professionals. Applicants must have the relevant subject matter expertise, extensive experience in developing and providing training and technical assistance for a variety of disciplines (e.g. judges, prosecutors, public defenders, defense counsel, probation and parole officers, law enforcement officers, law enforcement executives, court administrators, and treatment providers), and the ability to engage experts in each of these fields to inform the training and technical assistance. Applicants and are encouraged to collaborate with other entities and organizations to develop an effective and innovative training and technical assistance program. The overall program should include training and technical assistance for state, local, tribal, and rural jurisdictions.
