The overarching goal of National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Tuberculosis Prevention (NCHHSTP) programs is to decrease the incidence and prevalence of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and TB among at-risk populations, including adolescents. Timely dissemination of the newest information derived from recent scientific studies on these diseases is imperative, but often it is challenging to reach this goal. Nongovernmental and governmental organizations often wish to hold conferences to provide up-to-date information regarding the aforementioned diseases,...

Additional information

Domestic institutions or organizations, including established scientific or professional societies, are eligible to apply for conference support. Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply for conference support. Both domestic and international conferences may be supported; however, an international conference can be supported only through the U.S. representative organization of an established international scientific or professional society. An individual is not eligible to receive a grant for conference support.Applicants must propose conferences that are specific to one or more of the "Focus Areas of Programmatic Interest" (HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs or TB prevention, and/or adolescent and school health). Applications that do not comply with this requirement will be determined non-responsive and will not be reviewed. The application must be for a single conference; applications submitted for more than one conference or a series of conferences are not permitted under this announcement. Applications not complying with this requirement will be determined non-responsive and will not be reviewed.CDC will not fund 100% of any conference proposed under this announcement. At least 51% of conference costs must be supported with funds other than Federal funds. This amount may include donated facilities and donated time by the applicant. However, it is preferred that an applicant show its ability to build partnerships with other organization that can donate funds to the conference. Applicants that do not comply with this requirement will be determined to be non-responsive and will not be reviewed.Late applications will be considered non-responsive and will not be reviewed.
