Program Overview

The FFPr program provides for the donation of U.S. agricultural commodities to developing countries and emerging democracies committed to introducing and expanding free enterprise in the agricultural sector. The commodities are generally sold on the local market and the proceeds are used to support agricultural development activities.

Program Objectives

The FFPr program has two principal objectives:

·      To improve agricultural productivity; and

·      To expand trade of agricultural products.

Program Priorities

The program funding priorities of this NOFO are to provide additional freight, commodity, and/or administrative funds to active FFPr agreements. Generally, additional funding is needed due to natural disasters, lower than anticipated monetization proceeds and/or freight rates, continuation of program activities, political instability delaying key project dates, or commodity loss.
