What's New About this OVW Program The VAWA Technical Amendments Act of 2022 amended the definition of "tribal coalition" (34 U.S.C. § 12291(a)(42)) and the authorizing language for the Tribal Coalitions Program (34 U.S.C. § 10441(d)) to include certain organizations addressing domestic violence and sexual assault against Native Hawaiian women through services to Native Hawaiian communities. See Pub. L. No. 117-315, 136 Stat. 4404. These changes were effective on December 28, 2022, and therefore apply to FY 2023 Tribal Coalitions funding.
