Description
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), as part of its stewardship of Congressionally-mandated activities under the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act (BPCA) and implementation of recommendations of the Task Force on Research Specific to Pregnant Women and Lactating Women (PRGLAC), intends to renew and publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to solicit applications to promote translational and clinical research in pregnant women, lactating women, infants, children, and adolescents to: (1) advance precision medicine through the development, testing, and implementation of novel tools, models, and other technologies; (2) discover and develop novel therapeutics or enhance the usage of existing drugs for safer and more effective medications; (3) enhance patient-provider communications about drug effectiveness and safety risks; and, (4) optimize the dissemination, implementation, sustainment, and scale-up of evidence-based interventions to these patient populations. The overall goal is to improve safe and effective precision therapeutics during pregnancy, lactation, and across childhood. Applications are not being solicited at this time.
