Purpose of the award: To adequately manage, monitor and protect threatened and endangered species a complete and up-to-date data set is needed that includes information on species location, population size, habitat, and threats. Location-specific data are extremely valuable for assessing range and abundance, and for identifying areas of critical habitat as defined by the Endangered Species Act.
