The primary objective of this grant program is to develop knowledge that has the potential of increasing the supply of affordable housing as expressed in the Presidential Memorandum: Delivering Emergency Price Relief for American Families and Defending the Cost-of-Living Crisis. Applicants are invited to select topics from the research categories (Section III.G) with the aim of identifying or developing outcomes that will result in an increase in affordable housing supply. Additional Eligible Categories include: Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs), and Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions (ANNH). Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
