Description
The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) is planning to issue a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to continue Core Centers for Clinical Research (CCCR) aimed at advancing methodological sciences in clinical research related to musculoskeletal, rheumatic, and skin diseases. These centers will focus on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions, featuring a strong Methodologic Core and a modest Administrative Core, with the optional inclusion of additional Resource Core(s). The CCCRs are expected to develop novel methods, metrics, and outcome measures to address critical clinical research needs and knowledge gaps, incorporating patient and community preferences and ensuring community representation at all research stages. The NOFO will not support centers focused on generating biological or genetic data or developing related technologies. This notice is provided to give potential applicants time to develop meaningful collaborations and projects, encouraging investigators in relevant fields, particularly those combining expertise in NIAMS-relevant research areas, to apply.
